• Strong cost-planning experience, with the ability to develop a detailed cost plan from first principles rather than relying on an established budget.

• Confident and credible client-facing, with the commercial awareness to present, explain and defend costs when challenged.

• Comfortable engaging with and managing the downstream supply chain, including obtaining, interrogating and negotiating subcontractor quotations.

• A good understanding of how projects are designed and built, enabling them to contribute to specification development, detailing and buildability.

• Ideally, a sound working knowledge of M&E services and their impact on design, cost and delivery.

• Comfortable undertaking a significant level of QS/commercial activity, including contractual reviews, subcontractor negotiations and placing subcontract orders.

• Will work as part of the wider project team, typically under the direction of the Project Director.

• Will report directly to the Pre-Construction Director.

• Will work closely with a dedicated small works team, including:

Interior Designer – responsible for design development and specification.
Contracts Manager – responsible for project delivery and site coordination.
Technical Services Manager – available to provide specialist support on more technically complex projects.
