You would join a team including long term sales and delivery experts as well as warm and friendly creatives to take contractors proposals from very early stages.. maybe just a set of ERs and some GAs through the design development process to finalisation of a compelling bid and contract securing.

In the new structure you would be paired with a Contracts manager and a reasonably siloed delivery team to achieve circa £10 million of turnover and £2.5 million GP a year with a third of it coming from your network of consultants and end users and two thirds fer by the business. You could be focussed on the trickier work with Landlords that could be either Cat A or Cat A ++, or high end cat b or leverage the existing educational portfolio, the options are wide as long as its not labs.

Either way it will usually start with a professional team and RIBA stage 2 designs and PM between you and the client and you would shape and lead the bids, allocate resource from design and pre con along with CDM and Environmental in evolving a compelling contractors proposal. Currently they are winning 1:3 of their bids and much of this is because of their reputation for transparency in the drive for long term relational trust and earnest quality delivery which against much of their competition stands out as a key USP. This has been further improved by a new key appointment

But it doesn’t stop with project award. Ultimately as PD you are responsible for the delivery of your portfolio working hand in hand with your contracts managers to achieve it.
