Seeking a Pre con manager for a regional D&B company. Majority of work is in the regions along M3 and M4 corridor with some work in London. Company work on D&B office fit out and FM projects. Base £55k- £80k DOE plus commission

25 days holiday

In the office (in Reading) 3-4 days minimum except when in site .

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join our growing regional team at a dynamic Design & Build (D&B) company. This role is vital in the early stages of project development and requires a strong commercial mindset, technical knowledge, and client-facing communication skills. You will be responsible for developing project cost plans, programmes, and scopes of work, ensuring a smooth transition into delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Costing:
  Prepare accurate initial costings and detailed cost plans for D&B projects.

• Take-offs:
  Complete full material and quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.

• Costing Tools:
  Develop and maintain costing spreadsheets; ensure accurate and up-to-date pricing.

• Project Programming:
  Use Microsoft Project to build and present detailed programmes, including critical path and milestone tracking.

• Client & Subcontractor Liaison:
  Attend meetings with clients and subcontractors to explain and review project scope, cost, and programme. Respond to queries and gather feedback.

• Scope Development:
  Build and define the full scope of works for all trades, ensuring completeness and clarity in documentation.

• Build Knowledge:
  Demonstrate a strong understanding of construction methods, buildability, and sequencing.

• M&E Understanding:
  Possess a practical understanding of Mechanical & Electrical systems to support scope and cost plan development.

• Cost Plan Adjudication:
  Review and adjudicate cost plans and subcontractor packages to ensure value and compliance with project goals.

  
  

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a Pre-Construction, Estimating, or Quantity Surveying role within a D&B or main contractor environment.

• Strong knowledge of construction processes, costs, and sequencing.

• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, and other cost planning tools.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.

• Understanding of M&E disciplines and their impact on overall project delivery.

• Self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing multiple pre-construction activities simultaneously.
