To oversee the technical aspects of projects from design through construction. Coordinate between design teams, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure technical specifications are met, manage problem-solving on-site, and maintain quality control. The TSM also supports project planning, ensures compliance with industry standards, and facilitates smooth communication to deliver efficient, high-quality results.

They Seek

We are seeking a Senior Technical Services Manager (TSM) to join my client a fast-paced, high-performing team at a leading Design & Build contractor in Central London. This is a pivotal role for an experienced technical professional who thrives in fast-track commercial fit-out environments. Established over 15 years ago they turned over £100million + last year and have more than 100 staff. 

As a Senior TSM, you will be responsible for leading the technical services strategy across multiple high-value projects—typically in the £10m+ range, with M&E packages accounting for approximately 50% of the total value. You will act as the technical bridge between our clients’ visions and the practical implementation by our specialist subcontractors.  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead the technical services elements of D&B fit-out projects from pre-construction through to completion. 

• Help to manage the construction process, including developing technical scopes, setting realistic deadlines, and managing expectations across all stakeholders. Be prepared to make hard decisions that may bring pressure to ensure the project is technically sound 

• Meet with clients to fully understand and extract technical requirements, and translate them into coordinated, actionable language for subcontractors and design teams. 

• Provide authoritative oversight of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Safety systems—acting as the technical expert and ensuring full compliance with building regulations and quality standards. 

• Collaborate closely with project management, commercial, and delivery teams to ensure the seamless integration of M&E services into the overall project delivery plan. 

• Support commercial teams in the procurement and management of specialist subcontractors. 

• Foster strong, client-facing relationships with a proactive, sales-orientated approach to technical problem solving.

Essential Requirements: 

• HNC or above in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 

• Proven track record delivering fast-track commercial fit-out projects in a D&B environment. 

• Extensive knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Fire Safety systems within commercial spaces. 

• Strong understanding of pre-construction and the ability to manage deadlines and expectations effectively. 

• Minimum project experience of £10 million, with substantial exposure to M&E packages. 

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills—able to interface confidently with clients, consultants, and contractors. 

• High energy, detail-oriented and commercially aware, with a proactive and hands-on approach.
