Job Description

Our client is well established within the Building Services sector and are a leader in multi-disciplinary building services across London. Initially they started as a mechanical services contractor, but now work across multiple sectors including: Commercial Office fit out / refurbishment, museums, healthcare & higher education.

We are looking for a mechanically biased Quantity Surveyor. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the QS will work closely with the project management team, be responsible for the assisting in the provision of mechanical surveying services and provide expert advice on all commercial aspects of construction projects including management of costs and contractual matters.

Responsibility

• Procurement advice.

• Contract administration and cost control.

• Work with clients on variations to the contract.

• Allocate work to subcontractors.

• Value completed work and arrange payments.

• Cost reporting and final account preparation.

• Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.

• Provide advice on contractual claims.

• Work closely with Project Managers, attend meetings and undertake site visits.

• To have knowledge and understanding of the workplace health and safety regulations.

• Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines
