Job Description: Our client is a leading global principal commercial fit out and refurbishment contractor who have established a strong presence in Central London over the past 20 years. They have now built up an excellent reputation of being in the top tier of refurb contractors. Around 80% of their portfolio originates from existing clients who include global corporations, financial and educational institutions, those requiring workplace mission critical data centres, retailers, and hoteliers. 

Their Major Projects team have had huge investment over the last year and due to project wins are now looking to appoint a heavyweight Project Leader. Their pre con department includes first rate planners, estimators, and design managers as well as BIM and bid coordinators and their commercial and site teams boast some of the best talent in the industry. The right candidate is Required to have run a project as a number 1 from PTI to PC of a minimum of £30m value over say 18 months. Both single stage and 2 stage experience is preferred but not essential.

 

Hotels, Offices and Life Science buildings are their target markets.


Role Overview

The Project Leader will be expected to attend the Tender Launch where the strategy will be agreed for securing the project, this will include and then require follow up actions including but not limited to.



  • Reviewing the details including design information, drawings, specifications, and any information relating to the building itself - scope interrogation. 

  • Agreeing and assisting in the preparation of the project programme including identification and demonstration of the logic. 

  • Arrange meetings with key supply chain members, obtain buy in, into the programme, engage with the Directors and secure their own most talented management teams. 

  • Arrange meetings with the Professional Team and from early relationships by engaging and understanding the design briefs and project objectives. 

  • Agreeing the package splits between sub-contractors and bid lists. 

  • Preparation in conjunction with the technical team, the engineering services review and strategy for installation, testing, commissioning, and training. 

  • Preparing Information Release schedules. 

  • Preparing RFI's or Tender Queries. 

  • Prepare any necessary scaffold schedules, protection schedules, temporary works register and temporary supplies schedules. 

  • Agreeing and populating a risk register. 

  • Attending and leading weekly Tender review meetings to ensure the progress of the actions set at the launch. 

  • Attendance at the settlement / Adjudication meeting. 

  • Ensuring the Collation of the required information and write ups to finalise the Tender proposal.  

  • Preparing a Construction Risk Analysis /Project Specific Plan to be presented at the Tender Settlement / Adjudication. 

  • Managing quality, program, design release and health and safety through a site team of circa 15 or more.

 

 

The career path can either lead into a multiple project Directoral role or stay single job whilst winning the next . The scope is there for either. The team doesn’t have an existing Project Director. Interviews to be held in our London offices first week of July.
