The Company
Our client are a mature and prudent business. 

The work flow is a blend of framework, major corporate and long term repeat business with a dose of churn rather than a typical D&B model. 
Currently they are winning 1:2 of their bids and much of this is because of their reputation for earnest quality delivery which against much of their competition stands out as a key USP.

They Seek
- Senior Construction Manager who run a project from site set up through to PC, reporting to a senior who will either be site based or visiting. Depending on the project size.
- Someone who has good technical knowledge and is commercially minded. So putting together a cost plan would be advantageous.
- Can work closely with the design team, communicate clearly with the client and is able to run the project from site set up to practical completion.
- You need to be technically minded and can be a safe pair of hands who can know all aspects of the job without being afraid to get stuck in.
-  Progress reporting and making amendments to the programme

- 4 week and 8 week look aheads
- Reporting to the client and being able to clearly outline what has been done in the past 2 weeks and then what will be done in the following two.
-Good basic technical knowledge is important for this role. Being technically minded within Mechanical and electrical engineering is valued. You will be expected to be hands on in all aspects of the project, so working knowledge of systems is valuable
- You need to care! Someone who is passionate about doing a good job will make yourself and everyone’s job easier
- Someone who has good technical knowledge, can work closely with the design team, can communicate with the client and is able to run the project from site set up to practical completion. You will be expected to run the project as a number 1 on site.
- Accountable for delivery and quality in line with customer and company expectations
- Develop and maintain close relationships with all appropriate internal and external stakeholders, including customers, sub-contractors and supply chain
- Implement and maintain quality assurance methods/standards to assure delivery of projects
- Implement and maintain HSQ & E procedures from pre-start to project completion to ensure full compliance with all company standards, policies, processes, ISO accreditations and legislative requirements
- Ensure all programmes, plans, method statements and risk assessments are robust, up to date, understood and implemented.
- Be aware of and ensure contract terms are understood and adhered to.
- Ensure that all site records are kept up to date in line with company and legislative requirements.
- Manage budgets and financial status with the commercial team
- Identify and escalate any potential issues.

What do you need to bring?
• Significant management experience in the construction industry working in fit out, refurb or Cut & Carve projects up to a couple of million as a number 1 or on larger schemes as a number 2
• Previous experience of successfully carrying out a similar role to a high quality.
• General knowledge of contracts (Minimum)
• General knowledge of IT (MS Office, Powerproject or Asta programming) (Minimum)
• Key communication skills necessary to maintain client relationships.
• Key skills in project planning and time management and effective communication to manage site-based project personnel.
• Experience in running and recording effective meetings with a range of key stakeholders, internal and external
